The Mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Society

When you give to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, almost all the money goes to the poor. We have almost no administrative cost because our members volunteer all their services.

These are terrible economic times for many people. Most people agree that the last few years have been the worst economically in the United States since the Great Depression. Many people are unemployed and a great deal more are under employed.
    
Unfortunately, these dismal times hit the people we serve the most. We cannot serve our people without your help. Please give generously, especially this year.

We visit people. We don’t just give assistance with food, rent and utilities. We try to help people improve their own lives, find jobs, seek other services. In total we distributed $172,892 in the last fiscal year, serving 2,084 families totaling 5,364 people, and that’s just in Fond du Lac County.

We are the safety net for the poor. 100% of the profits of our store go directly to the needy. This year that was an estimated $98,130, an increase of almost $40,000 over the previous year.  However, another $74,762 was needed in order to respond to those who asked for our help.  Therefore we need you!
